New Year’s in New York

Happy happy Friday!

Today I’m sharing a recap of our trip to New York for New Year’s because it had too many happies to count!

Here we are in the airport waiting for our flight!

Pssst: Find my jacket here and Alexandria’s here 🙂

We arrived in New York, and it was COLD!

sat2

We made it to our hotel, ate dinner, and went to check out Times Square!

We came back to this spread in our room 🙂 We were so excited for the next night!

We slept in on Sunday and went to eat lunch about a block from our hotel.  We had to lay low for a lot of this day because we didn’t want to get caught in the crowds and not be able to get back to our room!  There are tons of security and barricades in Times Square on New Year’s Eve to keep everything under control for the big night.

sun2

We stopped for some rolled ice cream (everyone eats ice cream when it’s 10 degrees outside, right?) and then went back to our hotel to rent The Murder on the Orient Express (so good!).

sun3

We had dinner at our hotel with celebratory champagne and the biggest crab legs I’ve ever seen!  I ate crab legs and boiled shrimp for dinner and was in heaven 🙂

sun5

And then we bundled up and made our way out to Times Square to wait for the ball to drop!

sun6

See the ball? 🙂

sun4

How cool is that?!

The mood in Times Square was incredible with the live performances and everyone counting down to the New Year!

It’s 2018!

We took pictures on the streets of Times Square (because why not?!) and then went back to our hotel to defrost and have a celebratory drink!

The next morning, we woke up and went to New York’s LSU restaurant and bar, Legends, to watch the Tigers in the Citrus Bowl!

mon2

I’m a HUGE LSU football fan and was so excited to be there!

mon3

We stayed at Legends for most of the day and then that night went to see the Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall!  This was a show that we had been dying to see, and it did not disappoint!  The show was incredible!

On Tuesday, we went to lunch at Tavern on the Green 🙂

tue2

We got to sit in a glass room with Central Park all around us!

tue4

We checked out the New York Public Library (how pretty is this reading room?!).

Pssst: Speaking of reading, if you missed my Paperback Picks post yesterday where I recapped the 24 books I read this year find that here 🙂

And then we went ice skating!

tue5

We grabbed some Starbucks and strolled down Fifth Avenue (which included a stop at Tiffany’s!).

tue6

We checked out Rockefeller Center 🙂

tue7

And ended the night at Magnolia Bakery! I got a Rockette red velvet cupcake 🙂

We went back to our hotel, grabbed some Mexican food before bed and then flew home on Wednesday.  We had the very best time!  This trip was to celebrate my parents’ 25th anniversary, and it was one to remember!

I’m so excited to see what 2018 has in store!  I’ll be back here next Friday with a Finding Five post to celebrate Finding Happy turning ONE!  It’s going to be a super special post so you won’t want to miss it 🙂

Have the best weekend!

xoxo
