February 2018 Paperback Picks

Hey hey hey Thursday!

Today I’m sharing a Paperback Picks post and talking about the three books that I read this month plus a little Bible verse read. All three books this month were a huge hit in my book! I read a fictional story plus two faith based nonfictional books, and they all moved me in their own way! After reading 24 books last year, my goal for 2018 is to read at least three books a month and share them here with you!

Here we go! You’ll want to add these to your Amazon cart stat 🙂

the things we keep

After ending last month on a low note with reading, this one was the perfect start to my February. The Things We Keep is a story about a woman in her thirties who develops early onset Alzheimer’s Disease and has to be placed in an assisted living facility.  She has one young counterpart in the facility… who also has Alzheimer’s. Her story intertwines with the story of the facility’s new cook who has gone through a crisis of her own and is trying to make life as normal as possible for herself and her young daughter.  This one will pull at your heartstrings, friends!

live fearless

I’ve talked about this book already this month because I just couldn’t wait to share it with you! Live Fearless is Sadie Robertson’s newest book about using your faith to tear down your fears and truly live a fearless life.  I was so moved by this book! Sadie encourages you to write in and highlight the pages, and I found myself highlighting multiple things with each turn. This is one that I’ll keep going back to!

j's everyday

J’s Everyday Fashion and Faith: Personal Style with Purpose answered questions I didn’t even know I had.  It’s all about how having a passion for fashion can not only not hinder your faith but can actually be used to honor God. Jeanette takes passages from Scripture and shares her thoughts on how God is using them to encourage us to live out our passions in whatever form that may be as long as we do so for His glory.  If you have an interest in fashion and want to learn more about how that can fit in with your faith, this book is for you! Bonus? It’s only six dollars on Amazon!

What a month of reading! I’m going to leave you with a Bible verse that reminds us to not only talk about loving others but to actually practice it in our daily lives:

“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18

If you’d like to read about the 24 books I read in 2017, find that here.  To keep up with what I’m reading this year, click here. And if you’d like to be friends with me on Goodreads where I share about the books I’m reading and want to read, find me here 🙂

I would love to hear about what YOU’VE been reading!

xoxo
